TOURIST TAX MUNICIPALITY OF MONTEPULCIANO
From 1 February 2012, in application of the City Council Resolution n. 91 of 30 November 2011, the Municipality of Montepulciano has instituted the tourist tax. The resources deriving from the tax will be allocated to the promotion and support of cultural and popular initiatives in Montepulciano and to the development of services for visitors. The objectives are shared by the Municipal Administration and by the entrepreneurial categories involved. For this reason, even the tourist can consider the Montepulciano Tourist Tax not as a simple levy but as an authentic Contribution for the territory. The tax is applied to overnight stays by non-residents in the Municipality of Montepulciano. The amount of the tax, for this accommodation facility, is Euro 2.00 per person per night.

THE FOLLOWING EXEMPTIONS ARE PROVIDED:
for children under the age of 12
for those staying in accommodation facilities as a result of measures taken by public authorities to deal with emergency situations resulting from calamitous or extraordinary events or for humanitarian relief. Persons who assist patients hospitalized in local health facilities can request a refund of the tax paid, for a maximum of two people per patient, by presenting adequate documentation issued by the health authority.
